Do you ever get stuck writing an email marketing message to your customer? Well next time, you sit down to write your master piece, follow these 6 simple tips to save time and get the job done!
1. Define your email’s purpose:
Really think about the objective of your email and how your reader will benefit from it. Is it to inform them of an event, promotion, webinar, new blog post, important changes in your business? Whatever it is your email should clearly let your reader know why they are receiving it and how thy will benefit from the information.

2. Make it good looking
Your email should be good looking! That means your readers must be able to view your message on any mobile device or on their desk top with total ease and comfort. So make sure you format your email to open in a user friendly format especially for mobile devices. Most email platforms cater to mobile settings but make sure you test it before blasting away.

3. Make good use of white space
Do not crowd the page with blocks of copy, use the enter key. Break up long sentences into separate thoughts or create effect by having one short powerful sentence that leads into a new thought.
4. Be clear and concise
Being clear and concise is the best thing you can do for your writing and it is not as easy as it sounds - it takes time and practice with super editing skills. Once you’ve completed your email copy, go over it and get rid of any filler words such as “that, however, maybe, I think” - you get the picture.
After editing, go over it again and look for ways to break up long sentences and shorten others to get straight to the point.
5. No tiny fonts please
Unless you are writing for ants do not use tiny 10 point fonts, try using 12 with a clean style that is easy to read. For example: Verdana, Arial, Times New Roman or Helvetica are great options that I've found to work really well.
6. Get personal
Emails that address the receiver by their first name are more likely to be opened that those that do not. Doing this adds a nice personal touch and helps the person feel like you are speaking directly to them. It's worth the effort going through your list to make sure you have first names.
